Non-surgical blepharoplasty AGNES RF

AGNES RF lifting has been dubbed “non-surgical blepharoplasty” for its powerful lifting effect on under-eye bags (fat pads) and eyelid skin. AGNES is a unique innovation. What makes AGNES RF special?

Radiofrequency devices (both non-invasive and microneedling) have been on the cosmetology market for quite some time, but before AGNES RF, they only provided superficial and short-term results. Highly promoted microneedling RF devices (such as MORPHEUS 8 and ENDYMED) have a more powerful impact than non-invasive ones. However, they only affect the skin and its elasticity. AGNES operates on a different principle. Other RF devices are multipolar, whereas AGNES is monopolar. The difference lies in exactly how the radiofrequency energy acts during the procedure. In multipolar RF lifting devices, the current moves horizontally between the needles. They have significantly less power, shorter needles, and work only within the skin layers without penetrating deeply. In the AGNES device, radiofrequency energy has a targeted vertical heating plane, and the device possesses much greater power. This means it penetrates deeper and can work with adipocytes (fat cells). No other devices do this!

The Effectiveness of AGNES

The AGNES device features 9 different needles that vary in length and degree of insulation. Gun Young Ahn, the inventor of the device, conducted research on the thickness of the skin, SMAS, and subcutaneous fat. Thanks to this, the length and shape of each needle were calculated down to the millimeter to successfully target different areas. The device also has a separate bipolar handpiece, which allows us to improve skin quality in the periorbital area — removing under-eye wrinkles and enhancing the skin in this zone.

What happens during the procedure?

The device has a targeted temperature for melting fat cells of 75-82°C (167-180°F). That is, under the influence of radiofrequency liporeduction, the fat literally melts and then biodegrades (is naturally eliminated by the body) without putting strain on the liver. This process is completely natural.

Safety

Agnes minimizes the risk of skin burns because it allows for the adjustment of RF energy power as well as the duration of each pulse for every specific area. The device features a visual display to check needle integrity and replace it if necessary. Agnes needles are single-use. Furthermore, they are partially insulated, protecting other dermal layers from damage. For example, if an under-eye fat pad needs to be reduced, a needle with greater insulation is used; only the non-insulated tip will touch the fat cells, while the rest of the needle causes no harm to surrounding tissues. The incredibly small surface area of the needle (one or three pins) allows concentrated RF energy to be delivered to the treatment zone with unmatched precision. Additionally, the device is FDA-cleared, proving its safety and effectiveness.

Is it painful? What is the recovery like?

Local injectable anesthesia is administered prior to the procedure. Patients find the treatment quite tolerable. Swelling and bruising in the treated areas are normal (their intensity depends on individual characteristics). They may last for a few days (up to a week).

How many sessions are needed?

Depending on the severity of the issue, 1 to 3 sessions are required, with an interval of a month to a month and a half between them. The patient can observe the final result a month to a month and a half after the procedure (once the body fully eliminates the fat cells).
