About the procedure

Wrinkle blanching is an injectable procedure involving the superficial administration of Belotero filler into the dermis to smooth out fine and medium wrinkles, including areas where classic fillers are not used.

Blanching is the solution for situations where wrinkles are already visible at rest but do not yet require deep volumetric filling or surgical correction. In such cases, it is crucial not to overload the tissues but to work delicately with the quality and structure of the skin. This is where blanching provides a result unattainable by other methods.

Unlike classic contour plastics, the drug is injected as superficially as possible — into the papillary layer of the dermis — through a series of small papular injections. This allows for even smoothing of even the finest superficial wrinkles while fully preserving natural facial expressions.

    Frequently asked questions about blanching
    1
When is the result of blanching visible and how long does it last?
The result of blanching is visible almost immediately after the procedure. The effect lasts on average 6–9 months, depending on individual skin characteristics.
    2
How many blanching procedures are needed for the optimal effect?
In most cases, a single procedure is sufficient. If necessary, the doctor may recommend a repeat blanching to maintain or enhance the result.
    3
How does Belotero blanching differ from Botox?
Belotero blanching fills superficial wrinkles and hydrates the skin, whereas Botox relaxes the muscles that form expression lines. These are different methods that can complement each other in a comprehensive care routine.
    4
Are side effects or complications possible after blanching?
After blanching, minor redness or swelling may occur, which subsides within a few days. Provided the procedure is performed correctly and certified products are used, the risk of complications is minimal.
